If you are looking for anime merchandise in Fukuoka, note October 24, 2026 . The existing Fukuoka PARCO store was scheduled to move to the eighth floor of Fukuoka Mitsukoshi and open as Animate LACHIC Fukuoka Tenjin, described as Kyushu's largest Animate . It connects underground to Tenjin Station and adds several spaces appearing in Kyushu for the first time, but not all 8 specialty zones open on the same day.

JAPAN NOW · FUKUOKA NEW OPEN

Station-connected Animate, announced as Kyushu's largest
Merchandise, cafés, fashion and exhibitions on one floor

Regular merchandise, books and music are joined by Gratte, a takeaway Animate Café, character fashion, the official Touken Ranbu shop and a Square Enix corner. Seven specialty spaces start on October 24; Space Galleria FUKUOKA opens separately on November 20.

GRAND OPEN 2026.10.24 Fukuoka Mitsukoshi, 8F · Connected to Tenjin Station
SPECIAL AREAS 8 specialty zones 7 open October 24 · Gallery opens November 20
For the gallery, plan for November 20 or later

Of the 8 specialty spaces in the official announcement, only Space Galleria FUKUOKA opens on November 20, 2026. Immediately after the October 24 grand opening, merchandise, cafés, fashion and official shops are available, while the exhibition space is still being prepared. If exhibitions are central to your trip, planning around a month later makes more sense.

What changes

At the source check · Animate Fukuoka PARCO

The existing Tenjin store was operating at Fukuoka PARCO. Recheck the official store notice for its final trading day and any closure during the move.

October 24 · LACHIC Fukuoka Tenjin opening

The move to Fukuoka Mitsukoshi's eighth floor is announced as creating Animate's largest Kyushu store. Official material did not disclose its area, so 'largest' is the operator's wording.

November 20 · Space Galleria opening

This is the fourth exhibition space after Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, and the first in Kyushu. Its first exhibition and ticketing require later announcements.

7 spaces from October 24

01 · ANIMATE GRATTE Kyushu's first Gratte

Graphic lattes with character art on the drink and iced cookies are sold here. Check collaborations and sales periods for your visiting date.

02 · ANIMATE CAFE Takeaway only

This themed café serves drinks and food tied to creative works. The official announcement describes this branch as takeaway only so do not plan on it as a seated café.

03 · SPACE A LA MODE The first Kyushu fashion space

It offers clothing and fashion merchandise tied to creative works. This is the fifth branch after Ikebukuro, Akihabara, Shibuya and Umeda.

04 · CYCONVENI A Cygames convenience-store concept

The first Kyushu shop for Cygames merchandise and the second after Ikebukuro.

05 · TOUKEN RANBU Touken Ranbu's general store

This is the first Kyushu branch of the official Touken Ranbu general-store main shop, and the fourth after Ikebukuro, Tokyo Daimaru and Kyoto Avanti.

06 · SQUARE ENIX The first special corner in Kyushu

A permanent special corner gathers merchandise, books, music and capsule products from Square Enix works.

07 · ONLY SHOP Exhibitions and photo spots

This event area combines sales for particular works with exhibits and photography spaces. Themes and periods rotate, so check the official event calendar.

08 · FROM NOV. 20 Space Galleria

Kyushu's first gallery exhibiting original drawings, illustrations and the worlds of creative works. This space alone begins on November 20.

Location and visitor conditions

Address LACHIC Fukuoka Tenjin, 8F Fukuoka Mitsukoshi, 2-1-1 Tenjin, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka
Transport Directly connected to Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station · Linked to subway Tenjin Station through Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall
Opening hours 10:00–20:00 · Recheck on the day, as opening events and store circumstances may change hours

From an itinerary centered on Hakata Station, use the subway Airport Line to Tenjin. It combines easily with Daimyo, Ohori Park or Nakasu. Because the café is takeaway only, arrange a seated break separately in Mitsukoshi or a nearby café after a long shopping visit.

Do not assume the overseas-visitor 5% card applies at Animate

Fukuoka Mitsukoshi issues a 5% GUEST CARD to short-stay foreign visitors after checking passports and also provides Korean information. Official conditions exclude some brands, products, sale goods and individual items below ¥3,000, and had not yet specified whether the new Animate was included. Before paying, ask at the B2 tax-free counter whether Animate qualifies. For card payments, the passport and cardholder names must match.

The relocation coupon is not a single one-time benefit

Stage 1 · Issued November 1 → Valid through December 31

This relocation coupon requires login to the Animate app. Check the official information image and app for distribution and use conditions.

Stage 2 · Issued January 10 → Valid through February 28

The announcement describes the next coupon going to customers who used the first-stage coupon.

Stage 3 · Issued March 10 → Valid through April 30

The final stage goes to users of the second coupon. A single Japan visit makes it difficult to benefit from every stage.

Coupon amounts and detailed product conditions must be checked in the official page's information image and the app. This is not an overseas-visitor-only offer. The source also found no common operator guarantee for Korean accounts, overseas-issued cards or combining it with tax-free shopping. Check app login, eligible products and the possibility of another visit before calculating savings.

Before visiting

  • Separate the October 24 opening of the main store and 7 zones from Space Galleria's November 20 opening.
  • Check official store notices on the day for limited opening goods, entry tickets and purchase limits.
  • Plan around Animate Café being takeaway only, without seating.
  • Stock and quantity limits can differ between events.
  • Ask at the B2 counter before paying whether Animate accepts the Mitsukoshi 5% GUEST CARD and tax-free shopping.
  • Bring your original passport and a payment method in your own name; include bulky merchandise in baggage-limit calculations.
  • Compare the practical value of relocation coupons for a short stay, since app login and use of earlier stages are required.

EDITOR'S NOTE · EVERYDAY TRIP

EVERYDAY TRIP Editorial Team's advice

The following is EVERYDAY TRIP's interpretation of official opening information for trip planning. Distinguish it from operator-guaranteed benefits or a firsthand visit.

November 20 onward offers the complete lineup

October 24 suits a visit focused on first-day limited goods, but November 20 or later is more efficient if you also want exhibitions. Allowing for opening-weekend crowds and possible sellouts, a weekday in late November provides a balance for a general visit.

Use the final 90 minutes of a Tenjin itinerary

The station connection helps in rain and makes returning to your hotel after shopping straightforward. Visit Ohori Park or Daimyo first, then enter around 17:00 to avoid carrying merchandise all day.

Check discounts before reaching the checkout

Mitsukoshi has an overseas-visitor card, but Animate's inclusion was not confirmed in the source. Ask the B2 counter about the 5% card, tax-free service, coupons and whether they combine. If they do not apply, compare immediately usable payment benefits before a chain of coupons requiring return visits.

Arrange a separate café break

The takeaway-only Animate Café is not a place for a long rest. If companions are less interested in merchandise, or you are with children, identify a rest area in the same building and agree on 60–90 minutes of shopping to keep the itinerary on track.
