A 1-minute walk from Kobe's Motomachi Station, Kobe Plaza Hotel satisfied the author for location, price and room condition. The recently renovated room was clean, with a strong shower and a combined bathroom. I was disappointed that the lounge could not be used before check-in, but it offered a range of drinks and snacks afterward. Breakfast was varied, with Japanese dishes including curry and ochazuke. It suited someone considering a Kobe stay at a more reasonable price than Osaka during that trip.

Kobe Port Tower Hotel has Western-style and Japanese-style rooms and an Executive Floor. Its communal Nagomi no Yu bath includes an artificial hot spring, while the sauna is only in the men's communal bath. Stone-sauna facilities are split between a space in the women's bathing area and a reservable space for guests on specified room floors. It is a 4-minute walk from Minato Motomachi subway station. Notices suspend some free transfers from JR Sannomiya Station, so check operation for your actual date. Confirm private bathrooms and meal inclusions for your specific room and booking product.
